Wake Up! Lo

Awake your creativity with a cup of coffee…

This January we, me and Marta (founder of http://www.librementeart.es), did the workshop “Wake Up”, a creative experience with coffee.
We have used coffee in a different way, to wake up our mind…!
The meeting was in the evening, at dinner time, and we have redesign the studio like a real Café. First of all, we issued a challenge to our imagination changed various objects in something different; the participants had to ‘see’ simple and common things, like a candy, a key or a clothes-pegs, in new and creative shapes and draw a picture. Let me explain, a key can become the mouth of the swordfish or a flamingo’s wing; watching a clothes-pegs it is possible to imagine a couple in love embracing each other or dancing the Tango. This simple training game was necessary to improve our brain to change the prospective, to redirect our sight in different ways by usual.
Our goal was to change an habit into something new. Every morning we wake up and we drink a coffee in a cup, is it true?
And, If I tell you that, you can take a brush, put this in the mug and transform coffee in a watercolor…. Try now!.. What happens? This is what we did in the workshop, we used coffee like a watercolor, we drew a picture with our fingers wet in the coffee like a biscuit, the coffee powder and the bean like pigment and special pencil. The idea behind this experience was flop the view of things; to choose an activity that we do every day and change the meaning.

You can do this game every day with all the things around you; in every moment you can turn upside down!
Yes, exactly, sit down on the couch or chair. Did you do it? perfect, now put your back on the seat and the legs to the ceiling. Let your head fall and….what do you see? No, it is not a wrong position; it is a new perspective, It is a different point of view! Always we look in a direction, but, did you ever think that there are different views in a situation? If you try to look at things in a different perspective you will be able to calm the mind and change the situation. Now you can look new elements, other slants, and so new solutions.
It is only when we overturn our position that we have the ‘real size’ of the space around.
Try every day to upside-down your world!

P.s yes, keep calm, we have used only Italian coffee, made it with a traditional moka, for the experiment!
